The funny thing is my mom and I were somewhat recently talking about good artists that appeared to have vanished into the void and up pops the stream in my E-mail.My only complaint is that Amazon was all yay!! bonus track. Hear bonus track on stream and auto rip. Get physical CD. no bonus track.hmmph.Anyways....~Tracks~Stand Up:A very positive beginning. The track urges listeners to stand up. Its got a very positive message. and a happy vibe. The catchy chorus definitely makes it worthy of listening to. 5/5What If-Apparently this has been on the radio. From what I hear. I don't listen to the radio all that much anymore. Another positive vibe type song.It appears to make people-at least me-think of walking a mile in someone's shoes before judging them. But this has been on the radio. Which begs the question why is amazon-and probably Itunes-the only one to have it out. Checked Target/Walmart/Best Buy. None of these major brand stores have this.Hmmm. 5/5Heaven Knows:The positivity continues. Its a lovely tale of love to me.The lyrics are very good metaphors. You could almost picture what a music video for it would look like. "Walk me down the old brick road;so I can die where I met you". 5/5Down: the first depressing song of the album. But not terribly so. I'm pretty sure he's telling the girlfriend off in this one. "I won't let you get me down;this time around." For me,personally,I've listened to this album a few times. Twice on the stream, once on autorip, and I believe 3 times so far in the CD player. And this song hasn't really gotten my full attention any of those times. 2/5I don't want your love: I wouldn't necessarily call the melody original. If you listen to it-and it doesn't really have to be all that closely. It resembles-possibly to the point of copying-"To make you feel my love".Another depressing song. But as I'm reading it over in the lyric book-to jog my memory-it seems almost like "Marry me" by Train. He would do anything for her but is trying to...help himself feel better by saying he doesn't want her love-because for all he knows she may never feel the same. Another one that more or less goes over my head while listening. 2/5Road to you:Uplifting melody. Love song. 4/5She's my girl:Another very liked song in my book. It may sound like the melody of "Better in Time" by Leona Lewis but soon after you think that the melody turns into its own thing. Love song. Happy. A song that I-and probably a few other girls-wouldn't mind having sung about us. He's so madly in love with her. "She's better than an ice cream;yeah, you know what I mean".5/5Symphony lane-At this point in time tied with "Stand up" for favorite song on the entire album. Its got that eerie, melodic feel to it. Almost like...never mind-its hard to compare but some other songs like this that I seem to be listening to a lot lately:"Girl with the red balloon","If I didn't know better","Barton Hollow"(All by the civil wars). As the listener it just takes you somewhere else with the story and melody. The best part is the instrumental somewhere towards the middle. It makes you feel like you're at symphony lane and the music just feels like its washing over you. I closed my eyes during that part earlier. Its just so awesome. 5/5You'll never change:Pretty simple stuff. "You'll never change me." 3/5Your man:Uplifting.Love song."I don't wanna love you anymore than the best I can". 5/5The day I died: Let me just say that for a Cd that's been like 90% positive. Its a bummer of a final track. 3/5Now for the bonus track. Excuse me for a moment while I get out my kindle. I'm having issues this morning. I try to download it from my cloud and keep getting that'll be $1.28 please. Even though at the top of the page it says it knows I already paid for the CD stuff.Rebel:Good song. Gets tiring after a few listens, though. "Rebel you're so brave;you paint the world you wanna see". 4/5I was surprised to hear that this is album 6. Wondering if I've been living under a rock.Have:Two Lights and The Battle for everythingDon't really think "playlist" should count. Its songs they already recorded.
